Bobby Mahal - Director of Operations

In the Fall of 2014 Advantage Tennis International at Veneto Tennis Club began.

Prior to that between 2010-2014 Bobby was the personal full-time coach of Sumit Nagal. Sumit went from a Top 10 Under 14 Indian National ranking in 2010 to the Under 14 and Under 16 Indian National Champion in 2011.

In 2012 Nagal would go on to win an ITF U18 Grade 3 at the age of 14 years and 5 months. That fall at the age of 15 years and 1-month Nagal would qualify for the main draw of the Junior US Open. Nagal would go on to win the Junior Wimbledon Doubles Title in 2015.

Between 2008-2010 Mahal was the Director of Coaching for the Apollo Tyres Program in India. Headed by Former ATP World #1 Doubles Player Mahesh Bhupathi, the program was designed to identify the top junior talent in the country.

Between 2005-2007 Bobby had done coaching and consulting and helped develop programs in Canada, the United States, India, Dubai, Bahamas and Belarus.

Between 2001-2004 Bobby worked as Tennis Analyst, Producer and commentator for Rogers Sportsnet as well as the world tennis feed.

Between 1993-2000 Bobby had an ATP Men’s Singles and Doubles Ranking. Bobby is one of a few people who has competed, coached and commentated at the Rogers Cup.

In 1994 Bobby received a full scholarship to the University of California at Berkeley. He graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree. He played in the #1 spot in Singles for three of the four seasons, and played in the #1 spot in Doubles all four seasons.

As a junior Mahal won three Canadian National Junior Championship titles and four Ontario Junior Closed Provincial titles. Between 1991-93 he was part of Canada’s World Youth Cup and Sunshine Cup Teams.
